Students learn visual impairment pedagogics in a library

October 9, 3^rd year students, group 731 together with N.Semenova, senior professor of chair of physical and psychological health of children, Department of pre-school and social pedagogics and psychology of KSPA in the framework of studying Pre-school visual impairment pedagogics visited Karelian Republican Library for Visually Impaired People.
Today Karelian Republican Library for Visually Impaired People is the only special library for visually impaired people, regional center for visually impaired people, methodological and coordinating center for republican libraries and public organizations working with people with limited abilities. The Library is a successor of Petrozavodsk municipal library for the blind No 11, founded in 1959.
First library Director was Boris Fedoseev, graduate of Petrozavodsk Library College (sight-disabled of group 1).
The Fund contains 113 707 volumes. There are 6047 users of the library.
Academy students learned about library units, work of correction office, features of tactile books for visually impaired children, museum exhibition on educational and daily techniques of work with visually impaired people.
