Third year student of the Department of Pre-school Education Sergey Abramov won the Fifth Annual Mr. Academy pageant.
Sergey is well known in the Academy. He participated in many contests and won ballroom dancing contest. When performing on pageant he read poems “Wait for me” by Konstantin Simonov, showed presentation devoted to veterans of World War II, was witty and artistic.
Eight finalists of Mr. Academy 2012 pageant performed in the concert hall of Petrozavodsk State Conservatory.
List of contestants: Kirill Goryachov (3rd year) and Ivan Verstakov (4th year), Department of Physical Culture; Konstantin Balahonov (5th year), Department of Physics and Math; Sergey Bobrov (1st year), Department of Technology and Entrepreneurship; Maksim Hamalainen (1st year), Department of Natural Geography; Ruslan Tushin (1st year) and Sergey Abramov (3rd year), Department of Pre-school Education; Yuriy Bivol (3rd year), Department of History and Philology.
Mr. Academy pageant’s full name is “Contest of male beauty, benevolence and talent”, that is why before the final show called “the Superhero” they participated in social events, psychological trainings, photo shoots, city quest, learned how to dance, speak on public and other things.
Participants presented all their skills on final show, which was judged not only by the audience but also by the jury. Evgeniya Frolova who is the head of students’ trade union was senior judge. Svetlana Bychkova, Head of the Department of Work with Students and sponsors were also in the jury. The host made jokes and the audience laughed, the atmosphere was friendly and participants felt confident. First year students struggled the most, but they managed to succeed. As usual, students of the Department of Physical Culture were the strongest. Ivan Verstakov pulverized the audience by beautiful songs, and Kirill Goryachev was the strongest and best prepared for the show. Konstantin Balahonov was smart, sporty and a good dancer.
Other participants were also deserving and for that they received awards from sponsors.
The Grand Prize of 20 000 rub. and other awards were won by Sergey Abramov. Ivan Verstakov became the First Vice-Mister and Kirill Goryachev – the Second Vice-Mister.
