Award of the Rector’s prize

For the fourth time students who dance ballroom dances met for an open championship “The KSPA Rector Cup”
It is the fourth time that Regtime dance club and KSPA organize the contest. 16, February eight students pairs competed for two nominations: Beginners and E-class.
According to tradition the competition was judged by two teams: one was professional jury and one of non-professionals. The professional jury was headed by the director of Regtime dance club Svetlana Ushkova, and that of non-professionals by Sergey Grippa.
Students and aspirants of KSPA and PetrSU participated in the contest.
Pairs of the Beginners group presented five dances: slow waltz, quickstep, samba, cha-cha-cha and jive. Those of E-class did the same plus the Viennese Waltz.
The audience applauded to dancing skills and beauty of costumes of participants. Junior Regtime club members were guests of the contest. Just like their senior mates they danced complicated dances and were awarded with toys.
Pair of Petrozavodsk State University Ludmila Stepanova and Artem Grigoryev won in nomination of E-class. KSPA pair of Elizaveta Chvanina and Anton Rodionov won in Beginners nomination. The non-professional jury awarded participants with cakes and the professional one – with cups and certificates.
