Awards for the best

It became the Academy’s tradition to award the best students with certificates and prizes in the beginning of the year.
85 students gathered in THE Big Hall of the Academy on February, 16 for the Award Ceremony. The event was organized by the department of work with students and student trade union. There were five nominations: for academic achievements, for research activity, for pubic activity, for sports and creative activities.
KSPA male choir opened the ceremony singing the Gaudeamus anthem. Then Sergey Grippa addressed to students wishing them to become not only distinguished professional but also nice and active citizens of Russia.
Each nominee was awarded with a book and a certificate. Five students received letters of gratitude of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Karelia for participation in youth republican and city events. Letters were given by a member of the Public Chamber Roman Golubev.
Special attention was paid to students who participated in Interregional Youth Forum “Students marathon” which took place in Sochi in the beginning of Fubruary. KSPA team was voted to be the most united by the jury.
Availing of the opportunity, students asked the Rector questions on current issues, such as: opening of a cafeteria for students of the Department of Physical Culture, scholarship amount, trips to Russian and international competitions. They also asked a personal question about the most unexpected present in rector’s life. “My two already grown-up daughters” – he said, smiling.
The Rector will have a more serious conversation tomorrow with active students, it will be devoted to student’s life. Meeting like that have already become traditions and usually they help resolving many problems that students have.
