The Academy makes its farewells to Nikolay Konjiev

January, 29 passed Professor, Head of the Dissertation Committee, Head of the Chair of Pedagogics, PhD Nikolay Konjiev. Pedagogical staff from all over the country has been sending condolences to his relatives.
Dr.Konjiev was born on 12 March, 1932 in Korchaginskoye village in a family of a worker. After finishing 7-year school he entered Pryazhinsky pedagogical college in 1947. In 1953 he graduated from the department of Physics and Mathematics of State Karelian-Finnish Teacher Institute, in 1961 – from the Chair of History of Karelian State Pedagogical Institute.
After graduation N.Konjiev worked as a teacher and headmaster of 7-year Karelia, 8-year Lankjarvikulsk and Landenpochya schools. He headed Sortavala District Department of Education in 1961-1966.
Nikolay Konjiev had been working in Karelian State Pedagogical Academy since 1966. In 1973 he became the Head of the Chair of Pedagogics. Since 1995 he was the Head of the Dissertation Committee.
A whole era of history of KSPA is connected with his name. Under his guidance hundreds of high qualified educators and 18 PhDs were trained.
Professor Konjiev was always professional, attentive to his colleagues, students and aspirants.
For his great contribution to training of high qualified professionals he was awarded the title of Honorary Educator of Higher Education of Russia.
