Sunday, October 21, school students of 8-11 grades participated in an academic competition round of the City Tournament that took place in KSPA.
Two weeks ago there was the first round of the autumn competition. 59 school students from 8 Petrozavodsk schools participated in the autumn competition. The jury from Moscow awards diplomas to winners of autumn and spring competitions. Last year four school students of Petrozavodsk were awarded with diplomas.
This is the 34st Tournament. This is the 17th time that Petrozavodsk participates in it. Usually students of the Department of Physics and Math help to organize this event. This time students from the Department of Math from PetrSU joined them. 4th-year student of KSPA Jana Belousova and Galina Luchkina and 1st-year students from PetrSU Mikhail Barinov, Svetlana Anikeeva, Ekaterina Kaznacheeva, Stepan jagodka and Alena Pudina helped to organize the autumn tour.
Local steering committee will announce results in Deccember. The committee members are: Elena Belkina (Senior Professor of KSPA, PhD) and Elena Kashuba (Docent of KSPA, PhD). It should be mentioned that Konstantin Matushichev (Docent of PetrSU, PhD) helped in checking the tests. We would also like to thank Konstantin Agapitov (Docent of KSPA, PhD) for helping to organize explanation of math problems given at the tournament.
